SEN. JOHN LOVICK
"I spent 31 years as a Washington State Trooper and six years as Snohomish County Sheriff. I know what professional law enforcement leadership looks like, and I know what it takes to build a department that earns the trust of the people it serves.
Kevin Burton-Crow has that foundation.
His military service, his years working inside the Thurston County Sheriff's Office, and his commitment to training and accountability are exactly what this county needs in its next Sheriff."
A New Vision For Public Safety

My name is Kevin Burton-Crow, and I’m running for Thurston County Sheriff to provide professional, accountable, and community-focused leadership for our county.
After serving 20 years in the U.S. Army and dedicating the last 11 years to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office as a volunteer reserve deputy, patrol deputy, and a special victim’s detective, I’m ready to put that experience and local knowledge to work modernizing our Sheriff’s Office. I want to move past just reacting to crime and instead build an agency that values transparency, careful use of resources, and real teamwork with our community.
I’m running as a Democrat because I believe being upfront and honest with voters matters. People deserve to know who they are electing and what values guide their decisions. My values align with supporting working families, respecting labor unions and collective bargaining, believing people should have access to health care, supporting strong public education, and using practical, evidence-based solutions to improve community safety. I also believe in fiscal responsibility, personal accountability, and protecting constitutional rights. Those beliefs come from my life in the military, in law enforcement, and in this community, not from political trends.
Those same values are what prepare me to lead a Sheriff’s Office that applies the law in a fair, professional, and non-partisan way. The law is written in statute, not in party platforms, and the oath we take is to the Constitution and the people. When someone calls 911, what matters is that the deputy who arrives is trained, prepared, and committed to treating people with dignity and enforcing the law equally. My role as Sheriff will be to ensure decisions are grounded in law, policy, and public safety, so every resident can trust they will be served fairly, no matter their background or how they vote.
